Frequently Asked Questions
Q. How do I join the School for Prophecy?
A. The School for Prophecy is not an organisation you join or subscribe to. We are quite simply a school that runs prophetic training courses for all levels of gifting, online and in-person, with other supporting events and resources. You become part of our community by attending a course, joining our contacts database, becoming an Alumni, and possibly helping to run some of our meetings.
Q. How can I find out if your prophetic training courses suit me?
A. Assuming you know which course might be best for you [See below], the easiest way is to register for a single session, attend it, and decide what you think. Single sessions currently cost £12.50 each on Eventbrite. If you decide to join the course afterwards, you can use the "Rest of the Course" registration and still benefit from the "one free meeting" discount. Alternatively, you can book a conversation with us using the website contact form to discuss this.
Q. I understand that the online courses use Zoom video conferencing. How does that work?
A. We use the Zoom Video Conferencing software for our online course meetings. Zoom is free to download, simple to use, and works on most platforms. Fortunately, many people are now familiar with it. On registration, you are sent a Zoom Proficiency Briefing, including where to download it from and the key settings to use.
You will also receive our Zoom House Rules, which will guide you on how to use it in the meetings. In addition, we hold testing sessions the week before the first meeting to ensure any problems are resolved beforehand.
Q. Which prophetic training course is best for me?
A. Using the website contact form, you are welcome to arrange an email, text, or phone conversation with us about your experience, needs, and environment. However, the following summary is a good guide.
· Little experience & limited biblical foundations = Level One
· Experienced but limited biblical foundations:
o Option 1 - Attend Level One & be patient with the first two workshops.
o Option 2 - Buy the level one teaching manual [or videos] & attend Level Two
· Experienced & good biblical foundations = Level Two
· Recognised as prophetic by your community or have a trans-local ministry = Level Three
Q. What happens if I can't attend, or I have to miss a session?
A. If you notify us more than seven days before the meeting starts, you are entitled to a refund of your registration fee, excluding the Eventbrite service charge. However, most people don't because the teaching sessions are all recorded, and delegates are sent a link to it on our YouTube Channel after every meeting.
Q. Where do I register for your courses? I can't find it on the website.
A. Registration for all our currently running courses and Regional Prophetic Gatherings are available on www.Eventbrite.com. Search for the course name or School for Prophecy. Our course training manuals and teaching videos are also available to purchase during the registration process in the Add-Ons section.
Q. I registered for the whole course and now can't continue or don't want to. Can I get a refund?
A. You certainly can. You are entitled to a refund of your course registration fee, less the cost of those meetings not covered by our seven-day refund policy and the Eventbrite service charge. To be transparent, this does mean that you effectively lose your whole course discount and simply pay for those sessions not covered by our seven-day refund policy. However, I would point out that most people just stop attending and watch the teaching videos we send them.
Q. Can I join one of the courses after it has started, i.e. as a late starter?
A. You certainly can. You can purchase video recordings of the teaching sessions and the course teaching manuals to catch up with the sessions you have missed. However, I don’t recommend joining after the fourth session, particularly if you are inexperienced. Joining after the fourth session means you miss four of the nine workshop sessions, the first session in the second topic, and will find it harder to pick up the course's heart, flavour, and values. However, we have been proven wrong!
Q. Can I transfer between courses after I have already started?
A. You certainly can, and we are happy to give you credit for any sessions you have already paid for in advance but have not attended.
· Moving from Level One to Level Two is easier. Missing workshops is not much of a problem due to your presumed experience, and you can catch up with the teaching easily using our videos and/or course teaching manuals.
· Moving from Level Two to Level One can be more challenging, as presumably Level Two was too advanced. Catching up on the teaching is still easy with our teaching videos and manuals, but how many of the first four Level One workshops you have missed needs to be considered as they are foundational.
Q. Do you offer any concessions?
A. We offer a 50% registration financial hardship concession for those who are reliant on state benefits or a student loan. Given the small cost involved, we ask that you contact your church leadership first to see if they will support you financially. However, if not, please feel completely free to apply to the school by email.
